Police Officer Delivers Pizza After Arresting Delivery Driver

A California police officer went the extra mile to help his community.

On Friday, police pulled over a pizza delivery driver for a minor traffic violation. However, after running his name, they found out that he had an outstanding warrant and took him into custody.

The police officer decided that the customer shouldn't suffer because of someone else's crime and decided to deliver the pizza himself.

“File this one under ‘wouldn’t you be surprised...’" the department wrote on Facebook. “Unfortunately the driver had to be arrested for their warrant but fear not. Officer McCarthy stepped in to fill the delivery driver’s shoes and got the pizza to the hungry citizen.”

The whole situation worked out pretty well for the people who ordered the pizza because the police department didn't accept a tip.

“The smile on the hungry citizen’s face was all the ‘tip’ needed to know we are doing our job,” they said.

As long as the pizza shows up, it doesn’t matter who brings it, right?
