Alameda County sheriff D. Shelby tried to silence activists who were questioning him about the ongoing trial surrounding the police involved killing of Steven Taylor at a San Leandro Walmart in 2020.
Sergeant Shelby pulled out his phone and began playing Taylor Swift's, "Blank Space" upon questioning from the Anti-Police Terror Project around the court hearing.
Shelby said that if the activists were going to film him that he was going play the song so that they "couldn't post the video to YouTube". He figured the platform would remove their video due to artist copyright infringement.
Shelby has since been getting dragged on social media & the video has been gaining hundreds of thousands of views all over the internet.
